 Redaksjonen har vært ute av drift ganske lenge av diverse årsaker, men satser nå på fullt igjen.
Mye kjekt har skjedd i den blackmoreske verden. Candice and Ritchie har blitt foreldre til lille Autumn Esmerelda.27 mai i år. Dette feirer de med å gi ut en ny plate 3. september. Den skal hete Autumn Sky.

was it in Blackmore`s Night that inspired you so much that the band
came about?

I believe that as a Ritchie's acoustic fan it is impossible to not
remain enchanted by the wonderful songs of Blackmore's Night.

fact the issue of "Shadow Of the Moon" affected us , and
for this we started this hard but fantastic adventure.

Fra MKI til MKII, 1969 et år med store endringer.
Selv om 24 september var datoen for Concerto for Group and Orchestra og mye medieinteresse – noe som hjalp å promotere Purple og gi dem den oppmerksomheten de fortjente i UK var det ikke før i 1970 det virkelig tok av.
Bandet hadde sin første konsert noen måneder før Concerto…nemlig 10 juli i London. De hadde også en jobb i Montreux, Sveits i oktober, uten å vite hva den plassen skulle komme til å bety for dem.
MK II sin første utgivelse ble derimot sluppet i 1969, singelen Halleluja/April part 1. Den skulle promotere Concerto i UK og ble sluppet 24 juli. En låt med MKII og en med MKI. I november ble den sluppet i Japan, noe som får oss til å tenke fremover. Ikke all verdens interesse, men det er et historisk faktum at den var deres første utgivelse, sluppet for 40 år siden. Tittelen på låten synes å være profetisk – jeg slipper gjerne ut et Halleluja i pur glede over Purple MKII sin musikk.

 Deep Purple ‘Concerto for Group and Orchestra’.
Yes I was there!! At the Royal Albert Hall in London for the most
spectacular concert with Deep Purple and the Royal Philharmonic
Orchestra! Of course, I still have the original LP (Harvest SHVL 767)
Hey, I’m in the photo of the crowd somewhere!
I was very fortunate because I worked for many record companies in an
era that was never to be repeated. It meant that I have fantastic
memories of seeing great rock bands up close. This was one of the
greatest concerts (although being at the Albert Hall to see Pink Floyd
and watch Rick Wright walking round the enormous theatre and up all the
stairs to the Royal Albert Hall organ to perform ‘Saucerful Of Secrets’
– is a pretty close second!!)

 Du har spilt gitar I en rekke store band I årenes løp, men du startet med bass. Hva fikk deg til å skifte?
Vet ikke – det er så lenge siden. Kanskje fordi at jeg gjennom gitaren har større mulighet for å uttrykke meg.
